The next year I was in Corwin X. They hold very fond memories for me. Thank you for posting the pictures. For some reason, I was curious about seeing them again. However, for those who are concerned-- the Global Village houses still exist but they are housed on different floors throughout Jameson. So la casa hispanica as well as many others are still a big part of Douglass!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09331199552134219199noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-960378910828021794.post-87057242737045215952017-10-11T19:07:54.812-04:002017-10-11T19:07:54.812-04:00Thanks for sharing this info. It's sad for those of us who loved living at Corwin, but hopefully this new use will bring great experiences and memories for the students living and studying there.<br />Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02836481864368869692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-960378910828021794.post-20174614828810391762017-10-11T19:00:15.179-04:002017-10-11T19:00:15.179-04:00https://www.tapinto.net/towns/new-brunswick/articl...https://www.tapinto.net/towns/new-brunswick/articles/rutgers-unveils-plans-for-groundbreaking-adultAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-960378910828021794.post-90763303798265021682017-10-07T09:05:06.311-04:002017-10-07T09:05:06.311-04:00What are the building being used for now? Yes, people had intense pride in their houses. What a shame Rutgers did not continue maintaining them as residences.ravibahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14897609224128936662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-960378910828021794.post-71819451202626767142013-08-11T23:37:38.469-04:002013-08-11T23:37:38.469-04:00Thank you for sharing this history! I lived in the Global Village's "La Casa Hispanica" or Spanish House and was heartbroken when I found out future generations would not have the same experience. I have the best memories of living in Corwin and wish that they would renovate all the homes and offer the same residential learning community that I fell in love with to incoming students.JerseyGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10544255219831097257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-960378910828021794.post-57427061427053965652013-07-12T14:13:54.371-04:002013-07-12T14:13:54.371-04:00I lived in the first horseshoe, too! I lived in the first horseshoe in 1996-7 (oops!), after all of the rooms had been converted to singles, while they were all still "specialty" dorms (language houses, 9-month housing for working students, LGBT support etc.) I'm sad to hear that they are not inhabited anymore!Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16316223783348484336noreply@blogger.com
